My companion and I got to go to the Temple this week! It was so awesome! We went through with one of her resent converts from the beginning of her mission! It was so nice and amazing!
So last monday was so cool!!!! We went to this old antique shop and they had this bible that was a King James version from 1902…… It was kind of falling apart so I went up and asked them how much they wanted for it and they gave it to me for free…… I was just shocked! It’s probably one of the coolest things I’ve gotten out here!
On Wednesday we went over to sister Taylors to water the garden. So her great-grandson was over and he took us on the golf cart…. Well we ended up finding an old mile marker for a highway, and he was convinced it was an old “Pilgrim tomb stone” So he told us we had a quest to find the other half of it so we could solve the mystery of the dead pilgrims!
Thursday we went over to the Coles and played with their 6 week old puppies and of course taught them a lesson! Why are puppies so cute! We also met this really cool guy named Calvin who we have seen every day in downtown Newberry. He was telling us all about gambling and all of his perks.
Friday we went up to the top of our area to Whitmire which is about 25 miles form our apartment. We found out there is literally nothing there. Saturday Temple day!
Sunday we went over to Hamanes and the Elders came over and gave him a blessing for his hand! it was amazing and exactly what he needed to hear. Hamane is like no one you will ever met he is one of the most humble people I know and I am so grateful to be working with him towards baptism!
D&C 122:7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
P.S. I accidentally blew out the lights in our apartment complex over the stairs coming up to our apartment… They have only been out for 2 weeks….. I should not be let around unmarked switches. The temptation is too strong!
