This has been a great week! First off did you know that out here in the south almost every church has buses that pick up people for church. How crazy it that and Smart! People always ask us when the bus will be there to pick them up for church. It took me a couple of times to understand what they meant. But ok! OH and some breaking news. In my mission we are not allowed to go tracting (knocking on doors) anymore. It got banned on Friday. It was not what I was expecting at all! But at least we wont have any awkward door conversations anymore. I’m excited to see how missionary work is going to change because of it!
On Thursday we went over and saw Judy! She is Amazing! She is so close!!! SO CLOSE!!!!! We had an amazing lesson with her and the spirit was their so strong!
Saturday the Elders in the other ward had a baptism and Olwyn and his family came!!! We gave them a tour around the church, and we talked with him about what we believe! And can I tell you how much I love the members here! they are just fantastic! They came right up to Olwyn and his family and started talking to him like they were best friends! AMAZING! Later that night we taught a man for the first time who literally has 20 cats in his house and 20+ cats living outside……. It was very interesting! but I survived and now I’m good!
Oh and the count for how many Transitional houses (half way houses for people coming out of prison or psychiatric hospitals to help them adjust back in to society) I have been to is 5 now…. and none of them were on purpose. This past one we went to the parole officer was out side and told us we were never allowed to come back because there were people living their who could not have interaction with people yet…. But were safe and I wish people would tell us before we go. luckily we have not gone to one at night and it has all been during the day and half the time we have had a member with us.
So just a recap on last week my throat almost closed up but I’m fine now and this week I got exposed to poison ivy….. I hope this does not become a weekly thing. But will see!
Life as a missionary is never boring! And I absolutely love it!
Today were going to go hiking up at Cesar’s head! I’m so excited!
My beloved brothers and sisters, the eternal blessings of tithing are real. I have experienced them in my life and in the life of my family. The test of our faith is whether we will live the law of tithing by our obedience and sacrifice. For, in the words of the Prophet Joseph Smith, a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation. -Elder Robert D. Hales
Well I love you all!
When we knock on their door and you come back next week and they have literally packed up and left trailer and all……
