I have finally had a taste of the south!!!! Can you guess what it was? It was Deer! And oh my it was good! We had a deer meat loaf on Tuesday then a member gave us some deer meat too. A deer neck…… and Some random deer meat parts! we mad the Random deer meat parts into a stroganoff type thing the Lord was defiantly on our side the whole time we made it! There is this amazing food place called Cook Out Yumm! they have over 40 flavors of shakes and I tried their peach cobbler one! Delicious! This week we taught Kaitlyn about the Word of Wisdom! She is such an amazing Girl! She knows these things are true and she is willing to do what ever she can to be baptized! Its amazing to see such a young girl who has such a strong testimony of God and our Savior Jesus Christ. I Love seeing people devotion and love towards God. People in the south Really cherish their relationship with God and It’s amazing to hear their stories of how they found God regardless of what religion they are.
On Thursday we were able to do service for the senior center and serve their thanksgiving dinner to them! It was so much fun and the English and Spanish Elders in my district came and we talked with everyone and served them the whole morning! Service is such an amazing thing that anyone can do! No matter what you believe you can always find ways to serve. Christ taught us that when you are in service to your fellow man you are only in service to me. How amazing is it to think that when we serve each other we are really serving God! When we were serving them the Elders had to make tea so we were teasing them about teaching the word of wisdom to the seniors! After we served at the senior center we went to see Sister Rankin! I love seeing her she is amazing. we went outside and read a story with her and talked with her for an hour then we went into her room and we helped her organize her drawers. Even though her body is failing her spirit is so strong and I love seeing her eyes when we tell her stories of Christ and She has impacted my life in so many ways. I cant believe I’ve been given this opportunity to get to know her and her testimony! We meet a family that the English Elders taught before our boundaries changed. His Name is Olwyn and he is from South America, we talked about how families can be together for ever and the plan that God has for all of us! Him and his family are so sweet and very humble. throughout the lesson he asked me if I was the Elders Sister? I was very confused and said its a name. Then he said no are you one of the Elders sisters you look just like Elder Peterson, you know the shorter one. I told him no and throughout the lesson he kept referring to me as Elder Peterson’s sister!
Spiritual Thought –
Right now is a time that we should all be thinking of the blessings we have received. I know that God has blessed my life in so many ways and I know that he is always going to be there for me. I am grateful for my family and friends. For the experiences I have and what I’ve learned from them. I Am grateful that I know who God is and I know my Savior. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of South Carolina and for the people I’ve met here who have welcomed me with open arms! So I challenge all of you to think about what your grateful for and make a list and every time you find a new thing you love or our grateful for add it to the list and see how long it grows. Then when your having a hard time pull out your list and look at it.
I love you all and I am so grateful for everyone of you!.
